Do you have an innovative idea for using technology to enhance your teaching?
To ensure Texas State continues to deliver quality education in this period of dynamic innovation and experimentation, the Technology Innovation Office, a unit within the IT Division, has set aside funding for faculty members. This support aims to help foster excellence in undergraduate teaching through the innovative application of technology. Instructional designers from the Office of Distance and Extended Learning work closely with the Technology Innovation office and faculty throughout the grant.
Mixed-Reality Learning for Students (Hololens)
BJ Spencer fundamentally altered the way her construction science and management students were interacting with and communicating about their architectural designs. Using funds and instructional consultation from the the Teaching and Learning with Technology Innovation Grant, BJ integrated the Hololens into her course. Students could actually walk through their architectural designs, which changed their thinking and even led to a job offer for one student.
